The
Week on the tours:
Tiger showed
again that he is one of the best match players of this era. He also continued
his dominance of the World Golf Championship events, by winning his second
straight Match Play Championship. He defeated Davis Love III 3 and 2 for
his 40th PGA Tour win, and propelled himself from 18th to third on the
money list. Love made the final by beating Darren Clarke in extra holes
on Saturday after being down two with two to play. Woods beat Stephen
Leaney on Saturday to reach the final. This was the most marquis final
that the Championship has seen. Darren defeated Leaney in the consolation
match to finish third.
Next Week
Tiger battles jet lag, and Ernie Els in Dubai for the European Tour event.
Els is a two time winner of the event, and has the course record of 61.
Meanwhile
in Tucson, Heath Slocumb edged Aaron Baddeley by one shot for his first
tour victory. The hot John Daly was not as he barely made the cut and
finished tied for last.
Annika Sorenstam
showed that she is ready for '04by shooting a pair of weekend 65's on
route to a victory in Australia at the ANZ Ladies Masters. Her LPGA debut
will be in two weeks at the Safeway International in Phoenix.
On the Nationwide
Tour only 8 players broke par on the difficult Clearwater resort course
in New Zealand. Gavin Coles came out victorious with a 6 under total.

Tip
of the week:
Proper
weight shift:
Weight shift is crucial in the golf swing. It is crucial for power and
timing, and it is the most problematic part of many recreational player's
games. An improper weight shift can dramatically reduce your power and
is the cause of the dreaded reverse pivot.
Fortunately
it is also one of the easiest things to learn to do properly. In order
to get a feel for proper weight shift you have to completely forget about
what you are doing with your upper body for a while. To start, I suggest
just holding your golf club in the setup position without the club touching
the ground. Then simply rock your body side to side by putting your weight
from one foot to the other, not unlike dancing. While doing this, just
relax your hands, wrists, arms and shoulders and let them move with your
movement. The club should start swinging in front of you as you step from
foot to foot.
Now just
increase the movement until the swing starts get bigger. You will be much
like a pendulum, and if you are doing it right, you will be making about
a three quarter swing. Continue this movement for about thirty swings
with the same easy tempo, then start putting balls in place and hit them
with the same motion. As you get the feel for this motion, you can begin
to increase the length of your swing while maintaining the weight shift
and rhythm.

- The best
golf equipment does not have to break the bank. I use clone golf clubs
from Pinemeadow
Golf, and I have used many name brands. Custom clubs that
fit your game is the way to go.
- The best
site I have seen for golf fitness is here,
for having the most golf specific programs for all season. There are
also great pre-game stretching routines. Too many people neglect the
stretching and fitness components of golf and it can really affect your
scores. Use every advantage you can, go to Golf
Fitness now.

*Great new weighted swing trainer that I use. Increase your distance
and improve your tempo.
-
This revolutionary
program will train your mind to better golf in minutes! World Series
MVP Josh Beckett, Justin Leonard and Roger Clemens know.

It
is official, this thing really works. I used to be a pro hitting
my drives 270-290 consistently. Then I injured my back and hip and
when I came back to golf, a good drive would go 230-240. I have
been using the PowerStik
for two months, and I am banging my drives into the net at the back
of the range again. I have gained 20-30 yards on my drives, and
ten yards on my irons. In addition I am not sore after I play, even
my chronically sore wrist. This product has me playing like I can
again. It has added distance, improved my tempo, and conditioned
all my golf swing muscles. I know it can do the same for you without
even leaving your house.
