The Week on the tours:

For the second week in a row weather will caused a Monday final round at the HP Classic of New Orleans. Joe Ogilvie leads a tournament where the soft conditions are causing lots of low scores. The two best players in the world at present, Vijay Singh and Phil Mickelson are in contention. Tiger Woods will make his first start since the Masters this week as he tries to gain some ground on Mickelson and Singh at the Wachovia Championship in North Carolina.

On the LPGA Tour, Jennifer Rosales fired a blistering 65 on Sunday with Annika Sorenstam, Grace Park, and Se Ri Pak on her tail at the Chick-fil-A Charity Championship. While many of the leaders went low, Sorenstam could only muster a 71 on Sunday, after starting close to the lead.

Bruce Fleisher became the first repeat winner on the Champion's Tour by annihilating the field by 7 strokes. His first round 64 kept him comfortably in the lead for the entire tournament.

Rain also pelted the European Tour where they could not even complete their third round on Sunday in Italy.

Quote/Joke of the week:

"Follow-through: The part of the swing that takes place after the ball has been hit, but before the club has been thrown." - Henry Beard and Roy Mckie

Tip of the week:

Hitting the ground before the ball:

Hitting the ground before the ball, or "fat shots" is a very common problem that can lead to injury. This is caused by either coming into the ball too steeply, and/or decelerating the club head as you hit the ball.

Proper weight shift is important and keeping your right shoulder back on the downswing (opposite for left handers) is crucial. There is a tendency to throw the right shoulder ahead as you come down creating an outside-in steep club path. Focus on swinging more around your body to remedy this. A good drill is to strap your upper arms to your body and hit balls. This makes it impossible to throw the shoulder forward. For this prblem the "Swing Jacket" is an excellent aid.

Don't forget to accelerate through the ball. When you slow down at the bottom of your swing, you will hit it fat every time.
